4月19日，又是一年一度的學生主導會議，這一個會面，其實是非常的簡單，就是由學生自己告訴父母，她在學校究竟學了些什麼？而拿回家的厚厚的一本 Portfolio，裡面夾著的就是這一年學生在學校的學習證據，一般都是寫作或專題報告。因為全是在學校內完成的，爸媽也沒有看過，所以特別新鮮有趣。平常在家寫 Journal 都有媽媽陪著做，看看這些習作就知道清林在學校自己寫的其實會去到那一程度了。
中文比較有趣的是這一篇節日故事創作，是清林和同學仔的共同創作。
新月餅的故事：從前，有一個很有錢的人，她叫中秋。她很喜歡幫別人。有一天，她遇見一個小男孩在哭，中秋就走過去問：「小男孩，你為什麼哭？」小男孩說：「因為我沒有錢，爸爸媽媽又死了，而且很餓。」中秋說：「我帶你去超市買食物吧。」小男孩說：「好的。」他們到超市買了很多東西。小男孩也想中秋開心，所以就拿了個小石頭，變一個月餅送給中秋。後來，送月餅就流行起來了。
媽媽當然覺得這個故事非常有趣，甚至有點感動。小朋友的想法，大人有時就是想不出來，因為大人會有好多的自我框架，例如未必會在民間故事創作裡加入超市這個地點。
英文寫作。其中的一個主題是 Procedural Writing。清林今年好幸運，中英文老師也有好熱心的。清林說老師整整一個星期都在課堂上煮食，天天吃的都不同，因為想讓學生練習寫食譜！學生當然開心，又有得食又有得玩！
How to make Bruschetta
What you will need: Baguette, chedder cheese, feta tomato, pepper, olive oil, spring onions.
First you cut the baguette into thick pieces. Then, you spread some olive oil on the baguette. Now, you put the baguette into the oven. In the meantime, get some tomato. Then slice it into small pieces. Put it into a bowl. Then, put some chedder cheese into the bowl. Put some pepper into the bowl. DING! Get the baguette out of the oven. Put some mixture onto the baguette. YUM!!!
另一份習作，一個非常簡單的故事大綱，包含了 Main Character, Setting, Problem 和 Solution 的主要元素。很明顯是沒有老師的幫助和批改，因為有非常多的 spelling 和 grammar mistakes！雖然如此，但也見她好用心的寫，故事也有趣。
The Adventures of Ashly the Apple!
My Main Character: Long long time ago there was an apple called Ashly who loved to eat candies. Her mum didn't like Ashly's eyes because they were ugly. Dad didn't like her eyes too.
Setting: Once there was an apple called Ashly. She lived in a shop in A town. In A town there were a lot of shops but this shop was the best shop!
Problem: One day a man came to the shop. He looked at Ashly. He said, "this apple is beautiful." Ashlynn thought that the man would eat her because her eyes were not beautiful. So Ashly was not happy again. She thought that he would not give her candies so she's very unhappy.
Solution: Ashly said, "On my silly man, do not eat me. I'm a beautiful apple. Just give me candies, so I will be bigger. If I'm bigger I will be yummier!" So the man gave her a lof of candies to eat. Ashly was so happy because she joked him.
學校是 IB 學制的（其實小學是校本課程，中學才開始 IB MYP 和 DP），所以沒有傳統的常識科，但有 Guided Discovery 探索科。小學一年級，老師的指引還是好重。例如這一個專題樹木，老師是有一系列的學習活動、Field Trip、課堂討論等，去帶領學生去做一個簡單的專題。完成品是一本二十頁的報告，內容非常豐富。整個專題報告在學校做，但也開始要求學生在家找一些資料（例如圖片，網上參考）回校，而學生也開始學用 Mind-map 去分析和整理資料。探索科是媽媽最喜歡的，因為這一科不設考試，只要有心機做報告就可以了，對清林這些記性不算好但好奇心還算強的小朋友，特別適合。
